BULAWAYO — Highlanders have completed the signing of winger Benjani Junior Mwaruwari as the club strengthens its squad for the remainder of the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.
The 21-year-old joins the Bulawayo giants from the United Kingdom, where he had been playing lower league football.
Highlanders confirmed the signing in a statement, welcoming the young winger to the club.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of Benjani Junior Mwaruwari. We welcome him to the Highlanders family and look forward to his contribution as we pursue our objectives,” the club said.
The transfer creates a father-and-son partnership at Highlanders, with Benjani Junior set to play under the guidance of his father, head coach Benjani Mwaruwari.
Former Zimbabwe international Benjani Mwaruwari took charge of Highlanders earlier this season and has overseen an improvement in the club’s performances.
One of the team’s notable recent results came on Sunday when Highlanders defeated league leaders Scottland 1-0, ending the champions’ nine-match winning streak.
Benjani Junior arrives as Highlanders continue reinforcing their squad for the second half of the campaign and will provide additional options in the attacking department.
The winger will be aiming to make an immediate impact as Bosso look to build on their recent form and climb further up the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League standings.
His signing also marks another chapter in the Mwaruwari family’s football journey, with father and son now working together at one of Zimbabwe’s most successful clubs.
