HARARE — Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has launched XtraData Bundles, a new mobile data product that gives customers up to twice as much data through bonus allocations as demand for internet connectivity continues to grow.
The new offering combines a Bonus Bundle with a Main Bundle, allowing subscribers to access additional promotional data before using the data they have purchased.
According to Econet, the Bonus Bundle is always consumed first. Once the bonus allocation has either been exhausted or expired, customers automatically begin using their Main Bundle.

The company said the validity period for the Main Bundle only starts after the Bonus Bundle has been depleted or has expired, enabling customers to enjoy the full validity of the data they purchased.
XtraData Bundles are available in five pricing options designed to meet different customer data requirements.
The entry-level US$5 bundle includes 2.5GB of Main Data and 2.5GB of Bonus Data, giving customers a total allocation of 5GB.
Customers who purchase the US$10 bundle receive 5GB of Main Data and 5GB of Bonus Data, while the US$15 package offers 10GB of Main Data and an additional 5GB of Bonus Data, providing a total of 15GB.
The US$25 bundle comes with 15GB of Main Data and 10GB of Bonus Data, giving subscribers 25GB in total. The highest package, priced at US$35, includes 20GB of Main Data and 15GB of Bonus Data for a combined allocation of 35GB.
In a statement, Econet said the new bundles were introduced to provide greater value to customers who increasingly depend on mobile internet for everyday activities.
“Our customers are increasingly relying on data for work, education, business and entertainment. XtraData Bundles have been designed to reward our customers with additional promotional data while ensuring they continue to enjoy the full value of the data they purchase,” the company said.
Econet said the introduction of XtraData Bundles forms part of its broader strategy to deliver innovative and flexible products that meet the changing digital needs of Zimbabweans.
Customers can purchase the new bundles by dialling *143#, through the EcoCash Super App, the My Econet App and approved third-party sales channels.
Subscribers can also monitor both their Bonus Bundle and Main Bundle balances using *143#, the My Econet App, Yamurai and the company’s My Web Selfcare platform.
Econet said customers who buy additional XtraData Bundles before their existing bundles expire will have the new bundles accumulated in accordance with the company’s existing bundle accumulation and consumption rules.
The launch comes as demand for affordable, high-value mobile internet continues to increase, with more Zimbabweans relying on digital connectivity for communication, learning, business operations, entertainment and access to online services.
