Former police detective Jaison Muvevi has been sentenced to four life terms and an additional 40 years in prison after being convicted of four counts of murder and four counts of attempted murder by the Harare High Court.
Justice Gibson Mandaza handed down the sentence after the court found Muvevi guilty of the charges, including the fatal shooting of a police officer.

The court heard that Muvevi committed four murders and also attempted to kill four other people. For the murder convictions, Justice Mandaza imposed four life sentences, while an additional 40 years was added for the attempted murder charges.
The sentencing was delivered during proceedings at the Harare High Court.
