BREAKING:

Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah has reportedly been handed a six-month driving disqualification in England after a Rolls-Royce registered in his name was caught speeding in Cheshire.

According to The Sun, Salah was convicted in his absence by Warrington Magistrates’ Court in August after failing to identify the person who was driving the luxury vehicle when it was detected by a speed camera in March 2026.

The vehicle involved was reportedly a Rolls-Royce Spectre, which is said to be worth more than €466,000 (Dh1.96 million).

Salah, 34, reportedly also failed to respond to two notices sent to his mansion in England, which is estimated to be worth more than €5 million (Dh21.08 million).

The court subsequently imposed a six-month driving disqualification and a fine of €769 (Dh3,242), according to the report.

The alleged speeding incident took place in Wilmslow, Cheshire, reportedly two days after Salah announced his departure from Liverpool.

The development has brought the Egyptian forward back into the spotlight in England, despite his current football career taking place outside the country.

Salah recently made headlines on the pitch after scoring a hat-trick for Trabzonspor against Galatasaray.

The Egyptian scored all three goals as Trabzonspor secured a 4-0 victory and also provided an assist during the match.

The performance reportedly took his league tally to seven goals for the season.

The latest driving case is not Salah’s first motoring-related incident in England.

In 2022, he was reportedly fined and received three penalty points after being caught speeding while driving a Ferrari F8 Tributo.

Salah also faced attention over a separate incident in 2018 after he was photographed using a mobile phone while driving near Anfield.

Police later said there was insufficient evidence to prosecute him over that incident.

The latest case, however, has resulted in a driving disqualification, meaning Salah has now been ordered not to drive in the UK for six months.

The case comes as Salah begins a new chapter in his career and life in Turkey following his departure from Liverpool.

The Egyptian has established himself as one of the most recognisable footballers of his generation, with his career in England having been closely associated with Liverpool.

His reported move to Turkey has now shifted the focus of his playing career away from England, although the latest court case has brought his name back into the British headlines.

For now, Salah’s six-month driving ban relates to his UK driving privileges, following the court proceedings over the speeding offence involving the vehicle registered in his name.
