Police have named four suspects wanted in connection with a series of armed robbery cases reported in Harare, Ruwa and Rusape, as investigations into a major US$108,000 heist continue.
The suspects have been identified by police as Mambo Dhuterere, Khule Diva, Kasongo and Senior Gama, all of whom are reportedly still at large.
The development follows the arrest of suspects linked to a robbery at a company in Ruwa on September 13, 2026, where US$108,000 was allegedly stolen.
A court report published on Tuesday confirmed that Tinei Makaripe and Pungurai Mukambachaza appeared before a Harare magistrate facing armed robbery charges over the Ruwa incident. They were remanded in custody and advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
According to the State’s case, the suspects and their alleged accomplices raided Xinda Castings in Ruwa, reportedly entering the premises armed with pistols.
The alleged robbers are said to have scaled the company’s perimeter wall before entering a changing room, where they allegedly put on company work suits and helmets in an attempt to disguise themselves as employees.
They allegedly intercepted two workers returning from a toilet and forced them towards the company’s offices, where they confronted a Chinese national and demanded money.
The group allegedly searched the office before escaping with a satchel containing US$108,000.
The robbery reportedly triggered a pursuit by company workers. One of the suspects, Makaripe, was allegedly caught after he fell when he was struck by a brick during the chase, according to the court report.
Police investigations have also resulted in the recovery of some of the allegedly stolen money and other items.
According to the court report, US$4,900 was recovered from Mukambachaza’s home. A cellphone allegedly taken during the robbery was also recovered.
The Ruwa case is reportedly part of a wider investigation into a suspected robbery network operating across several locations.
The suspects have also been linked to an alleged attempted robbery at Kurima Centre in Msasa on September 12 and a robbery at Redan Service Station in Glaudina on June 22.
At Redan Service Station, the alleged robbers reportedly confronted fuel attendants and a security guard while armed with pistols and wearing balaclavas. They allegedly stole US$500, a cellphone, a panic button, pepper spray and fuel coupons.
At Kurima Centre, the group allegedly broke into offices carrying a pistol, iron bars, machetes and a bolt cutter before fleeing when a Safeguard reaction team arrived.
Police are now seeking information that could help locate the four suspects identified as Mambo Dhuterere, Khule Diva, Kasongo and Senior Gama.
The names should be treated as police identifications of wanted suspects, rather than proof that the individuals have been convicted of any offence. The allegations remain subject to investigation and, where charges are brought, the court process.
The investigation is also expected to establish whether the wanted suspects were connected to the Ruwa robbery and other cases under investigation in Harare and Rusape.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has repeatedly urged members of the public to provide information that can assist investigators in locating suspects wanted in connection with armed robbery cases. Its published notices direct members of the public to report information to the nearest police station or through the National Complaints Desk.
The ZRP has previously published appeals for information involving outstanding armed robbery suspects and has encouraged the public to use its National Complaints Desk at (0242) 703631 or WhatsApp 0712 800 197.
The latest investigation comes as authorities continue efforts to disrupt armed robbery syndicates involved in targeting businesses and individuals believed to be holding significant amounts of cash.
For now, police investigations into the Ruwa robbery and the other alleged cases are continuing, while the suspects who remain at large are being sought.
