Zimbabwe travelled to England last week as preparations for the tournament intensified. The squad arrived in Birmingham on Thursday before later moving to London on Sunday ahead of the important semi-final fixture.

Coach Kaitano Tembo and his technical team have been overseeing the team’s preparations as the Warriors continue building momentum ahead of the encounter with Nigeria.

Speaking ahead of the match, Nakamba said the players were in high spirits and fully focused on the game against the Super Eagles. He said the squad had trained well and morale within the camp remained positive.

“We’ve been preparing well for the match against Nigeria,” Nakamba said ahead of the game.

The midfielder added that competition within the squad had helped improve the team’s preparations. According to Nakamba, the players have been motivating each other during training sessions as they prepare for the challenge against one of Africa’s strongest national teams.

“I think everyone is pushing each other in training, the moral is high so we are looking up to the game and hopefully all Zimbabweans will come out in there numbers to support us,” he said.

The Unity Cup match presents another major test for Zimbabwe as the Warriors seek to measure themselves against top opposition on the international stage. Nigeria remains one of the continent’s most recognised football nations, having won the Africa Cup of Nations three times.

The Warriors’ camp appears focused on delivering a strong performance despite the challenge that awaits them in London. The players have spent several days preparing together since arriving in England and are expected to approach the match with confidence and discipline.

Support from Zimbabwean fans based in the United Kingdom is also expected to play a role during the fixture. Nakamba urged supporters to attend the game in large numbers as the Warriors aim to secure a place in the Unity Cup final.

The semi-final clash between Zimbabwe and Nigeria is one of the standout fixtures in the Unity Cup tournament, bringing together two African national teams with strong football followings. Football supporters from both countries are expected to fill the venue for the encounter in London.

For Zimbabwe, the match offers an opportunity to continue improving as a national side while competing against experienced opposition. The Warriors will be hoping their preparations in Birmingham and London can translate into a positive performance on the pitch against the Super Eagles.
