An armed robber arrested after a police shootout in Gweru on 19 March 2026 has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Obedience Takaedza Mutasa was convicted when he appeared before the Zvishavane Regional Court this week. Police have warned criminals that resisting or attacking officers will lead to severe consequences and long prison sentences.
